To promote a safer environment for both employees and customers, First Kitchen, Ltd. ("First Kitchen") (President: Osamu Shiseki, Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) has initiated their first AI body temperature screening pilot trial at Wendy's First Kitchen in Akasaka Mitsuke through deployment of Japan Computer Vision Corp's ("JCV") "SenseThunder" AI-powered integrated facial recognition and thermal imaging device.

During the ongoing crisis posed by the Covid-19 global pandemic, businesses and hospitality services are increasingly adopting temperature inspection technology as a preventive measure to reduce the risk of cluster infection. Globally, regulation authorities in the United States, such as the Food and Drug Administration and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, have also temporarily allowed the use of infrared thermal camera systems and the temperature measurement of employees, as emergency responses to the pandemic.

JCV's AI Thermography Solution "SenseThunder" effectively measures body temperatures instantly (<0.5 secs) and accurately (to within ±0.5℃) up to 1.5 meters. The proprietary AI also identifies partially covered faces (i.e. people wearing face masks) and sends out real-time alerts upon detecting raised temperatures. It is ideally suited to act as a preventative measure to help combat the Coronavirus outbreak.

The Akasaka Mitsuke pilot test runs from May 18th to June 16th, 2020 and will only utilize the temperature measurement functionality. No personal data will be stored during this trial installation.

JCV will continue to assist in the promotion of safe and secure building access environments.
