Providing safe & secure dining space to valued customers
Managing several world-famous restaurants including Hard Rock Cafe, Wolfgang's Steakhouse, and Tim Ho Wan, WDI Corporation ("WDI") has installed an AI Thermography System provided by SoftBank Corp. subsidiary, Japan Computer Vision Corp. ("JCV") at different WDI operated restaurants, with the aims of creating safe and secure dining environments for their customers.
JCV's AI Thermography System "SenseThunder" integrates a thermal imaging camera with JCV's original facial recognition technology. The device "SenseThunder-Mini" enables effective fever screening by accurately detecting one's face in 0.5 seconds, even with face masks or sunglasses on. As one of the preventative measures taken to combat the Coronavirus outbreak, the AI Thermography device is installed at the entrance of the restaurants to help assess the physical condition of incoming customers. No personal data is stored throughout this deployment.
By deploying SenseThunder-Mini, WDI aims to provide a safe and care-free environment for staff to operate and for customers to enjoy a relaxing dining experience by enabling customers to self-check their physical condition upon arriving at the restaurant.
